Here are various videos taken on August 6, 2020, featuring the Culver Line of the MTA NYC Subway system! On this day, a train of MTA NYC Subway Kawasaki Heavy Industries R160B cars ran at relatively high speeds (higher than those posted on the line) to see the feasibility of using "V6" curve speed standards that would allow trains to take curved sections of the subway system faster, and therefore reduce travel times. Speed standards are governed by passenger comfort; the faster a train takes a curve, the more likely passengers are to lose balance if standing (and not holding onto any pole or bar). Hopefully, a slight increase in curve speed standards can be expected in the future from the test, if passenger comfort was not highly compromised due to the high speeds of the test train around the curved sections of the Culver Line.
