The AAP admitted to putting up posters criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the shortage of COVID-19 vaccine in several parts of the city on Sunday, and said that many of its staff had been arrested and hundreds had been "harassed" by Delhi Police.
The police action, according to senior AAP leader Durgesh Pathak, will not discourage the group, which will continue to put up similar posters across the city and country in a campaign mode. For allegedly pasting the posters, the Delhi Police has filed 25 FIRs and detained 25 people.
The FIRs were filed in various districts of the Delhi Police under sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code and other related sections, including section 3 of the Prevention of Defacement of Property Act.
