Indeed of course of the green deal proposal as it is right now it’s only the headlines to propose that will come in the future, so we are very curious to see the details later on, and the Heads of state and government today and tomorrow will also discuss the whole issue of money of the MFF. And it’s very clear to us that if the Commission is serious, if the member states are serious about climate protection then this also needs to show in the budget. Because if the money goes into harmful climate subsidies as it does right now, than we’re not doing enough for climate protection.
- Agriculture
We are currently missing some serious action when it comes to agriculture, because it was one of the biggest victims of the climate crisis, but it’s also one of the major contributors to a greenhouse gas emissions. But it can also be part of the solution, very much, so and that’s an area I would like to see more action. Also when it comes to trade, the previous Commissions signed a lot of the trade agreements, but trade costs a lot of emissions, and trade agreements need to be need to be cohesive with our climate policy. If that’s not happening, than we have a problem.
