On Tuesday morning, 45,000 dock workers at 36 ports across the country are off the job and on strike, including in Baltimore. Members of the International Longshoremen's Association started walking off the job after midnight Monday, demanding better pay and job security. This comes after stalled negotiations between the ILA and the United States Maritime Alliance, marking the first ILA strike since 1977. 11 News visited the picket line throughout the day Tuesday at the Dundalk Marine Terminal, where dock workers are demanding more pay and less automation. Dock workers want a 77% raise over six years and a ban on automation on cranes, gates and containers loading and unloading.
