In this video you can see how to check battery replacement history using ISTA+ on your BMW. Job is done on BMW e90 but you can use the same procedure for most of the BMW models.
Note: This history may not match with all physical battery exchange. This history exchange is real only if all the time when the battery was exchanged, this was also and registered on the car. To see how to register the new battery, please see my video: How to register a new battery on BMW.
You need to do the following operation:
1) Start ISTA+ application.
2) Go to "Operations", "Read Out Vehicle Data" and click on "Complete Identification".
3) Wait until the vehicle is identified.
4) After vehicle identification is finished, go to "Vehicle Management" and click on "Service functions".
5) Here expand "Body" and "Voltage supply" and "Battery".
6) Click on "Register battery replacement", select "ABL Register battery exchange" and click on "Display".
7) Once the procedure is started, select "1 Display battery exchange history" and click "Continue".
8) There will be some information messages which are telling us the cases when battery history will not be stored properly, read them and click "Continue".
9) Battery exchange history will be displayed. Here we have:
- current type of battery
- km/miles when the last battery exchange was done
- km/miles when one before the last battery exchange was done
- km/miles when two before the last battery exchange was done
- km/miles when three before the last battery exchange was done
