Seventy Ukrainian Soldiers are attending bespoke training in all aspects of operating and maintaining the AS-90 armoured self-propelled artillery weapon on a military facility on Salisbury Plain in the United Kingdom. This follows the British Government announcement in January 2023 that it will donate 30 British Army AS-90.
The AS90 is a modern, agile, and highly accurate artillery system that offers armoured protection to its crew while enabling them to engage targets at long distances. Ukrainian volunteer recruits receive tailored training in all aspects of operating and maintaining the AS90 system.
