The bill providing additional benefits to solo parents has passed into law without President Rodrigo Duterte's signature.

Under Republic Act (RA) 11861 or the Expanded Solo Parents Welfare Act, a solo parent earning the minimum wage and below is entitled to a monthly cash subsidy of P1,000.00 allocated by the concerned city or municipal government, among others.
