Jahangirpuri has been in the eye of a storm since April 16, when communal violence broke out during a 'shoba yatra' on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. Inspite of a Supreme Court order to maintain status quo, NDMC continued demolition drive of illegal constructions in Jehangirpuri. The demolition drive was then announced by NDMC coincides with Delhi BJP chief's letter about 'illegal constructions of rioters'
