The Emigrants is based on Vilhelm Moberg’s beloved story of the Swedes who left wretchedness and misery behind for a new life on the other side of the Atlantic in the mid-19th century. The film is directed by internationally acclaimed Erik Poppe starring Lisa Carlehed (In Your Arms, Until We Fall, Psychosis) and Gustaf Skarsgård (438 days, Vikings) in the leading roles playing Kristina and Karl Oskar. The main cast also includes Swedish pop sensation Tove Lo, Sofia Helin and Lena Strömdahl.

The film will premiere in cinemas on Christmas Day 2021.
