Ingredients for Romanian cheese doughnuts (6-8 pieces):
- 300 gr (10.5 oz) curd cheese or quark cheese (you can also use cottage cheese or ricotta cheese)
- 250 gr (2 cups) flour
- 2 eggs
- 80 gr (1/2 cup minus 1 tablespoon) sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- a pinch of salt
- vanilla essence
You also need:
- vegetable oil to fry the cheese doughnuts
- sour cream or heavy cream and jam for serving
