Super Nintendo World will debut new Power-Up Bands to interact with the land—but do you really need one? These pieces of wearable tech are $40 each but they are worth paying two-thirds the prices of a Nintendo Switch video game? To answer these questions, I stopped by Super Nintendo World during a technical rehearsal to show you a first-hand look at what using a Power-Up Band is like. As a theme park experience expert, I list the pros and cons of these bracelets while giving my final review.
🍄 Power-Up Bands are available to purchase at the 1-Up Store in Super Nintendo World as well as kiosks in the center of the land. Other stores in Universal Studios Hollywood and CityWalk will also sell them once the land officially opens on Feb 17, 2023. Unfortunately, there are no annual pass discounts for Power-Up Bands. I also recommend downloading the Universal Studios mobile app and creating an account before your visit.
