In the third season of the TV series Vikings, Ragnar Lothbrok fakes his death and requests a Christian burial in the season finale, episode 10, titled "The Dead". Ragnar's motivation is partly to trick Europeans, but also to avoid going to Valhalla after death and instead join his Christian friend Athelstan in heaven.
We find the seer's prophecy coming true that only the dead will capture Paris. The newly baptized Ragnor Lothbrok is dying in his tent from wounds sustained during the attack on Paris. He feigns his own funeral to gain a 'Christian burial' within Paris.
