Yassir Arsalan is born on May 7th 1996, Yassir is a Dutch singer, rapper and songwriter from the Netherlands. He started singing at age 12 having drawn inspirations from artist like Chris Brown, Usher, Justin Bieber and Mindless Behaviour.
His passion to perform led him to enter the Dutch Junior Eurovision Song Contest at age 13, but unfortunately he did not make it to the finals and then spent two years reinventing himself as a dancer and singer. His appetite for stardom saw him making a second attempt in 2011 at age 15, where he earned second place with the song 'Beautiful'. The song is about true love between a girl and a boy.Wherever he goes, he gets regularly approached by fans for an autograph and a photo.In no time he had more than 10,000 followers on Twitter.
During performances Yassir is completely in his element and he gets the audience totally crazy through his combination of song rap and dance. He was first a boy who spent his time with hockey, dancing, rapping and singing with friends in the garage and now he gets in touch with artists where he is fan of. He was also given the opportunity to collaborate with a couple of them, like with Ali B, Yes-R and Brownie Dutch. He enjoys plenty of shows and is a true entertainer at heart.
Yassir has stopped with hockey and gets training in the weekend at the Dance Academy Lucia Marthas in Amsterdam. In addition, he follows singing lessons in Amsterdam. His biggest dream is to be like his idols. In 2011 he was presented to Entrepreneur Simon Vandi by his mentor Rene Faissal.
Simon Vandi saw in the young Yassir a forward thinking business savvy young teenager and one year later after intense appraisal Simon flew the 15 year old artist to London United Kingdom to meet his team. Yassir's natural showbiz talent impressed the managing directors at SIVA Records and within a few days, the decision to extend his stay in the UK was made. He spent 6 weeks going through rigorous development from talent development, business acumen, teamwork to vocal training. He was also fortunate to gain advice from Media giants such as Eddie Wenrick (Akon's Hitlab former CEO) and Jason Blain former Senior Vice President of Sony Pictures. "It's been such a life changing experience, I have learnt that success is driven by passion and maintained through collaborative team effort. I have a long road ahead of me and I am determined to follow in the footsteps of my icon Chris Brown!"On July 2012, Yassir officially signed to SIVA Records. His debut single "Hurricane" is due sometime in 2012/2013 and is produced by Mr Fonc.
Yassir wants to break through globally and be a good role model for youngsters all over the world.Yassir is destined to change history and believes the Netherlands has talents in their teens the world has yet to see."In Holland our drive for success comes from our freedom of expression and our attitude towards change, we embrace different cultures and ways of life that can be felt in the production or our music and art.
