DK Shivakumar Interview: Karnataka Congress' DK Shivakumar launched an all-out attack on BJP government in Karnataka over violence in Shivamogga.
A group of secular youth protested in Shimoga city this morning at Berry's Mall here demanding removal of Savarkar's picture from the pictures of Azadi Mujahideen and installation of pictures of Muslim Azadi Mujahideen. Congress leader and social activist Asif Sharif was called to the police station for protesting against Savarkar's photo and legal action has been initiated against him. The police have taken this action based on a complaint filed by the Shimoga Corporation. Police have made preparations to send Asif Sharif to judicial custody after interrogation. On this occasion hundreds of youth gathered in front of Tunga Nagar police station and raised slogans in favor of Asif. Many common women and public along with SDPI and Congress party workers raised slogans in favor of Asif. Looking at the situation, Asif Sharif addressed his supporters and said that I have not done anything wrong, I hope to get justice, so instead of protesting, go home. Be clear
Those protesting against Savarkar's photo have been booked under sections 341, 353 and 340 of the IPC.
