On June 23, 1953, Jan Sangh founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee was found dead in Srinagar jail, in which he had been incarcerated as he tried to lead the Praja Parishad agitation for the abrogation of Article 370. The CEO of RSS affiliate Indraprastha Samvad Kendra Arun Anand says that the Modi government fulfilled Mookerjee's dream on August 5, 2019 and that the first anniversary of Mookerjee's death in the wake of the abrogation of Art 370 is a testimony to his importance in the Hindutva pantheon.
