Opposition in Rajya Sabha demanded discussion in the House as it reconvened on the seventh day. The opposition alliance INDIA remained steadfast in their demand for a comprehensive discussion on the Manipur situation in the Rajya Sabha. The proceedings took a contentious turn when TMC leader Derek O'Brien interrupted Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar. O'Brien raised concerns over the non-admission of opposition notices, submitted under rule 267, to discuss the situation in Manipur. In the wake of the heated exchange, Jagdeep Dhankhar abruptly adjourned the House proceedings for the day. The House is scheduled to reconvene on July 31st.
