Washers come in a wide array of materials each with different properties to consider for your application. Ranging from the various grades of basic alloy steel and the many coatings and platings over that steel to the many flavors of stainless steel, to brass, silicon bronze, and more!

A washer is a metal plate, usually circular, with a center hole (inner diameter) punched to a size just larger than a bolt or screw. Washers are normally used to distribute loads of threaded bolts, screws, and nuts evenly as the fastener is tightened.
