On Sunday afternoon, an SUV carrying a family of seven lost control on the Bronx River Parkway and plunged more than 50 feet off the air and into Bronx Zoo. All passengers, including three children, were pronounced dead on the scene. Investigation suggests that the vehicle must have been traveling at around 70 mph when it struck a barrier at the center median before hitting a curb and flying over the guardrail and down into Bronx Zoo.
