Footage of Chief M.K.O. Abiola, the undeclared victor of the June 12th 1993 Presidential Election which was anulled by the then military ruler, General Ibrahim Babangida, issuing a plea to Babangida to reverse his decision and "set Nigeria free".
Abiola was speaking during an interview in London with ITN News. He had fled into exile and Babangida would relinquish power on August 26th 1993 after ruling for 8 years. He installed an unelected civilian government headed by the industrialist Chief Ernest Shonekan who would be deposed by General Sani Abacha in November 1993.
