I've always been curious about what would happen if the loading screen wasn't there when you minimized the game & bring it back up. It can be frustrating if you're in the middle of something (a fight, etc) & some other program minimizes the game, you quickly bring the game back up only to be faced with the loading screen jpg for a few seconds not being able to do anything, know what's going on, etc.
It's always been fairly easy to replace the loading screen(s) as it's just a JPG file. Just take any other jpg & rename it to LoadingScreen.jpg & replace the file in Program Files (x86)/bioware/Star Wars - The Old Republic/swtor/retailclient/Loading Screens. However JPG files don't have transparency, so if you wanted to make an "invisible" or transparent loading screen you couldn't do that. That is unless you take an existing PNG file & rename the PNG file extension to JPG. By doing that the JPG will retain it's transparency.
Turns out SWTOR reloads the game's textures every time the game is un-minimized. The loading screen is meant to mask that process. In this video, you can see what happens when the loading screen is made transparent.
If your game resolution is 1920x1080 you can download this PNG file & rename the extension to JPG & put it in your Loading Screen Folder

FYI the game will revert the LoadingScreen.jpg file back to it's previous state whenever you reload the game. You can set the file to Read Only to prevent that, but the game might load during the launcher's verification process if you do that.
RESHADE -
In the video I'm using an older version of ReShade. A 1.0 version of it. The current version of ReShade is 4.0. The reason I use the 1.0 version vs the later versions is because I'm used to it, find it easier to use, & have multiple game profiles set up on it already.
In the video I just did a quick selection of settings that would make the game look more cinematic or film-like. Something that had a very notable difference when toggling the effect on & off.
The version I use in the video can be found here...

Note that ReShade will impact your game's performance depending on what features you have active/injected.
If you want to see some of the individual settings toggled on & off in a game, you can see it in a video I made using Warframe here...
