Bio:
I am the CEO of $55-million asset Financial Partners FCU in Woodburn, IN. We serve the
residents in Allen, Adams, and DeKalb Counties in Northeastern Indiana.
I live in Berne, IN which is about 50 minutes south of Woodburn with my wife Lona and my 11-
year son, Brandon. I was born and raised on a crop and livestock family farm with four older
brothers just north of Springfield, OH. We raised cattle and pigs and showed them at the Clark
County Fair.
I graduated from Northeastern-Clark High School and went to The Ohio State University and received a BS in Ag Education (Cooperative Extension Work) and Animal Science. After working in the ag retail industry with Tractor Supply Company for two years, I went back to OSU to get my MS in Ag Education and Ag Communications. While there, I obtained my license to teach Vocational Agriculture (Ag Science) and Agriculture Finance at the High School level. After a two-year teaching stint, my career path took me into banking I started my banking career in 1995 with Security National Bank (now Park National Bank) in Springfield, OH. I started as a teller and worked my way through the ranks to Bank Officer, lending and compliance position at our main office. Through my stops as a branch manager in South Charleston and Enon, OH, I became proficient in agriculture and commercial lending to go with my experience in retail (personal, auto, real estate) lending.
I then transitioned to the credit union industry in 2006 where I was a business development
officer for a credit union in Marion, OH where I was responsible for bringing in new business
clients for commercial lending opportunities. In 2008 Lona and I were married and not long
after in 2010 I took my current job as the CEO at Financial Partners FCU.
I look forward to bringing your group a unique perspective of lending from not only a banking
perspective but what we also look for in the credit union industry. I will show how character,
capacity, and credit go a long way in determining your financing options.
