Alumni of Woodrow Wilson High School were brought together in a panel to discuss their experience going to high school in the sixties, a time of strong political activism and change. Being one of the first desegregated schools in the DC area, many black alumni described stories of prejudice and racism. Some discussions included the increased politicization of activities that many overlook, such as participation in student council and the ability to engage in after-school activities. These experiences took part of a larger discussion involving student experience in newly desegregated schools, and the ability to feel like an individual in a highly polarized sociopolitical environment.
