Have you ever wanted to visit the Galápagos, but think it would be too expensive? Does the idea of finding the right tour company seem too daunting a task? Have you been told you HAVE to have a guide? This book is what you need to learn how to plan a trip to this bucket-list destination and enjoy a self-guided tour on your own and on a budget. The author is a published travel writer who lived in Ecuador for 6 years, and will give you real-world information on what it is like to make your Galápagos Islands dream come true - without creating a financial nightmare.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Jim Santos is a freelance writer and voiceover artist, currently enjoying life with his wife Rita in east Tennessee. They recently returned after 6 years living in Salinas, Ecuador on the shores of the Pacific Ocean and exploring that country and three others in South America. He has written and published almost 200 articles about living in Ecuador and travel to other locations around the world in the Wall Street Journal, Huffington Post, and various International Living magazines, e-newsletters, and web site content. He is the author of Ecuador Scouting Trip Itineraries and Travel Guide: An International Living Report and edited/updated their Escape to Ecuador book every year from 2017-2019. He has been a popular speaker on various aspects of life in Ecuador at six expat conferences held in Ecuador and the USA. His blog site is fast approaching the 100,000 readers mark, and he is the host of the upcoming podcast "International Living's New Rules for Retirement" which will be available (hopefully) later in 2020. He is currently working on three more book projects, including an account of training and tackling the challenging 26-mile Inca Trail hike to Machu Picchu.
