Here's a step by step video showing you how to field strip a Sig P229. This procedure will work for MOST Sig Sauer DA/SA handguns as well as the Sig P250 and P320.

*Be sure to remove any live ammo/loaded mags from work area*

1. Remove the magazine
2. Lock the slide open
3. Rotate the teardown lever clockwise 90 degrees (until it stops in a vertical position)
4. Release and remove the slide off the front of the frame (you DO NOT need to pull the trigger)
5. Remove the guide rod and spring
6. Remove the barrel from the slide.
The gun is now ready for cleaning!

This is a very simple field strip allowing you to disassemble, clean, and reassemble your Sig in very little time so you can get back on the range with it! Reassembly is done in the reverse order of steps 1-6 shown above.

This video is designed to demonstrate and explain the disassembly and reassembly of a Sig Sauer P229. We do not show the cleaning procedure; this is a field strip video only.
