Arminius known to is German’s as Hermann was a German War Chief - a former Legionnaire who deserted the Roman army to unite various German tribes to fight against Rome.
In 9 A.D. he, alongside many united Germanic tribes fought and defeated 3 entire Legions of Rome’s Military which equaled anywhere from 10,000-18,000 men.
He died around 21 A.D. possibly poisoned by German ‘Nobles’ who feared his increasing power.
Apparently his wife and son were taken as captives to Rome - I still do not know what happened to them.
To later German’s as well as myself he is looked upon as a true unifier and defender of our people. A hero as some would say.
His story makes me think and wonder upon one simple question - “what is worth fighting for? Or in other words, “what is worth dying for?”
I hope you ask yourself the same question...
