The activities of a famous Victorian villain and murderer Charles Peace. Includes a scene on the GWR (location unknown), recognised only by the scrolly brass door handles unique to the GWR at that time.

"PEACE'S FIRST BURGLARY"
Peace enters into a house via the windows at night time, they don't see that there is a woman on the house, another man joins him and they search for valuables. She comes with some help, 3 men grab hold of the burglars, they fight back. Peace escapes while the other one gets shot from the back by the woman.
"PEACE AT DYSON'S HOUSE"
Two men, a woman and a dog sitting by the table, one plays the violin (PEACE), when the other goes, Peace comes closer to the Mrs. and kisses her, her gentleman comes back and beats him up, peace leaves.
"THE MURDER OF MR. DYSON"
Peace in the field, he puts a letter on a branch, the lady comes and picks it up, he watches her from behind a bush. She quickly hides the letter when her gentleman arrives, he finds it and is about to beat her up when he notices Peace in the bush, they fight, Peace pulls out a gun and shoots him, she is crying over the body.
"Chas PEACE AT HOME"
Peace is sitting on a table playing the fiddle, three women dance, a boy comes with a message and everybody dresses Peace up in ladies clothes and hides him in the bed, everybody else is sitting around when the police comes to search for him. Eventually they find him and chase him up to the roof, he struggles with two policemen on the roof, shoots one and pushes over the other. A third policeman comes and gets shot too in the end.
"BURGLARY AT BLACKHEATH"
Two creep into a house via a window, Peace is already inside when the police comes and catches the other one. They take him away while two policemen are waiting for Peace to come out, he throws into their hands the goods. Peace comes out and hit them with a stick, he manages too escape, three are chasing him running over a pile of bricks.
"PEACE CAPTURED BY P.C. ROBINSON"
Peace in the field when police force comes, a long struggle, three get shot, eventually one manages to capture him.
"PEACE BEING TAKEN TO SHEFFIELD FOR TRIAL "
On a platform where a train is waiting. Two policemen on either side of Peace, leading him to the train, he tries to escape unsuccessfully, they all get on, a man locks the door behind them.
"STRUGGLE IN THE RAILWAY CARRIAGE"
Peace hangs himself over the window, the policemen grab onto his legs and try to pull him back, the train approaches a bridge, he jumps out, they shoot him then run after him on the railway and catch him.
"Chas. PEACE IN PRISON"
A lady is brought for an identity parade, six prisoners walk before her, she points at Peace and he is about to strangle her, when two policemen grab hold of him and save the lady.
"THE EXECUTION"
The hanging. A priest goes up wooden steps onto a platform of a scaffold, followed by two policemen and an executioner, who ties his legs, puts the rope over his neck and a sack over his head, and pulls the lever.
