Prevention of asthma in patients with allergic rhinitis can be achieved however there is no generic class effect so experts in the field cannot confirm that all products in AIT can reach this goal. The evidence shows an imperfection so far but there is a long-term study by Mola, by looking into allergen immunotherapy in children with grass pollen allergy ensuring that those who received therapy were less likely to develop asthma.
