This roundtable is one of a series of EPRS events on the 20th anniversary of the euro. The influence of the single currency reaches far beyond the euro area or the EU's borders. Together with policy-makers, experts and financial market operators, we will discuss the importance of the euro in the global economy by looking at its role as a reserve currency and its importance for exporters and financial market operators. The panel will also consider what initiatives can be taken to strengthen the role of the euro and how it can help to expand the EU's strategic autonomy and influence in the world.
