I talk you through the four things I have an increased awareness of in the 24 hours after binge eating. This is not just for uncontrolled binge eating, it could also be knowingly overeating at a restaurant or social occasion because you want to enjoy yourself.
I like to walk after a meal anyway but if I am in London and go out to dinner I will purposefully walk to a further train station or take an indirect route home. This is for digestion and it feels quite nice to get moving as you stop feeling overly full much sooner.
The next day I will be more aware of hunger signals from my body and I won't eat just for the sake of it. This is one key difference between normal and overweight people, there was a study involving a clock that ran fast and they found overweight people ate simply because the clock said it was meal time, even though it was 1-2 hours early. In contrast, people of normal weight only ate when they were hungry and didn't let the time dictate their meals.
Finally exercise, when you realise how much your body composition differs from lifting weights you'll never be sedentary again. It doesn't need to be a hardcore 90 minutes in the gym, even a few sets of bicep curls is going to mean your body uses some of those calories for good.
