Caladiums are absolute amazing plants to have. They are great in pots and you will be spoilt for choice as they come in a massive variety of colours, patterns and hybrids!
Caladiums need light, I stress on bright indirect light. Some varieties may have more light tolerance than others, so it is important to check what you got from the nursery. With that said, you can easily tell if your caladium is in need of more or less light. With too much light, you may see burns on the leaves. They will wilt too. However with too little light, your plant will stretch and the petioles elongate eventually droop down and fall over.
