This legislative session, Virginia lawmakers on both sides of the political spectrum placed heavy emphasis on solidifying Virginians' rights to contraception.
Despite passing in both the Virginia Senate and House of Delegates, two pieces of legislation related to this goal still haven't been signed into law and are headed back into the hands of Governor Glenn Youngkin, who now has the power to veto the bills altogether.
After these two notable bills related to contraception passed in the Virginia General Assembly, Youngkin made significant amendments to both. The Virginia Senate disagreed with many of these changes, which means both have been sent back to Youngkin to be considered again in their initial form.
