Ingredients:
Chicken - 600 grams
Salt - As required
Chilli powder - 2 Tbsp
Turmeric powder - ¼ Tsp
Lime juice - half of lime
Coconut oil - 2 Tbsp
Onion - 1
Tomato -1
Green chilli - 1
Ginger garlic paste - 2 Tsp
Garam masala- 1 Tbsp
Sugar - a pinch
Curry leaves - To garnish
Coriander leaves - To garnish
Preparation:
NOTE: Please note that the velvet chicken in the title doesn't refer to the Chinese technique of velveting the meat. It just refers to the smoothness of the taste and the texture. Also this is an 'Indian' ised version with different set of spices.
Marinate the Chicken with chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder and lemon juice for at least 20 mins
In a pan, add coconut oil and fry the Chicken.
Cover and cook the chicken for 10 min in a medium flame.
Flip them over and cook for 10 mins
Once the water evaporates add onion, tomato, green chillies and ginger garlic paste
Mix well and cover and cook for 10 mins in a medium flame.
Add garam masala and mix well.
Later cook in a high flame to toss well.
Finally garnish with curry leaves and coriander leaves.
