The KamAZ-4386, also referred to as the Taifun K-4386 or Taifun VDV, is a Russian mine-protected vehicle designed for airborne units. It is a compact 3-door variant derived from the KamAZ-53949, featuring interchangeable automotive parts. Development commenced in 2015 with the objective of providing troops with a nimble and well-armored vehicle capable of air-drop deployment. The initial prototype was completed for testing around 2015 or 2016, with its public debut occurring in 2017. A production contract was inked in 2018, leading to production starting in 2020, and it is currently in limited service within the Russian military.
