🦍 A second chance for threatened western lowland gorillas in Gabon! 🦍
To help the largest primates in the world, FOUR PAWS supports the Projet Gorille Fernan-Vaz in Gabon 🇬🇦 in order to give some individuals a second chance in life.
The gorillas we care for have been orphaned by the bushmeat trade and often rescued from appalling conditions under private ownership. They have all had a very difficult past but now, thanks to the gorilla rehabilitation program instituted in 2006, they have access to a safe shelter, customized care and, most importantly, a gorilla family. Every day they learn new skills which will hopefully allow them to live as wild individuals again.
Once they are ready, they will be reintroduced back into the wild 🌴. And thanks to this program, the gorillas will no longer be dependent on humans and will regain the freedom they are entitled to.
