This treatment is less invasive, combining both revascularization techniques, giving the patient a better chance of survival, using a multidisciplinary team of expert surgeons and interventional cardiologists working together to provide them with the best possible outcome. A MIDCAB is performed on the patient, which consists of connecting their mammary artery to the most important coronary artery of the heart through a minimally invasive procedure. Simultaneously, in a hybrid operating room, or in a second operation (the following day), stents are placed on the other damaged blood vessels. This technique corrects all of the damaged blood vessels, in a less invasive way, and gives the patient the benefit of receiving the the longest lasting graft (MIDCAB).
