When we decided to explore the #Bordeaux area, we marked #DuneDuPilat as a "must". Dune du Pilat is the tallest sand dune in #Europe, reaching heights of around 110 meters. It stretches approximately 2.7 kilometers in length and half of kilometer in width, making it a natural wonder that is constantly shifting and evolving due to wind and tides. Dune du Pilat is a truly unique experience in Europe.
Dune du Pilat is relatively easy to access, located just a short drive from Bordeaux. We decided to park our camper in the official parking lot which has time limitations but there is also an option to go further south where there is a motorhome area and a campsite in case you decide to enjoy this amazing destination for a longer period of time.
Dune du Pilat's combination of natural beauty, ecological significance and recreational opportunities makes it a truly amazing destination, one that we promised ourselves to come back to next time we are in the area.
