So, once again, straining our 5G connection to its limits, we'll bring you over four hours of top-quality skittles this week. Starting today from 8pm you can see Big 'Uns open their 24/25 account as they host Newcomers, fresh from a slightly unlucky defeat 4-6 at the hands of Alsorts last week.
Big 'Uns finished a creditable fifth in the table last winter, but their summer team performance was rather lacklustre. They will be chomping at the bit to get back to bowling in the dark and wet—their natural habitat.
Then straight after (around 9pm) we'll bring you Living on a Spare v Gutter Nutters. The Nutters finished 7th in the table last winter, and yet they had a higher pin average than the teams who finished in 6th and 5th. They will be looking to convert those pin advantages into points for 24/25.
Living on a Spare—one of our four debutant teams this season—opened their season strongly, scoring 8 points against fellow newbies Splitz and Giggles. However, no one from Splitz has ever played competitive skittles before, whereas LoaS has a few more experienced players among its squad of rookies. Let's see how they can handle an opposition as battle-scarred as the veterans they'll face in the Nutters.
