In episode 6 of the CARfari Chinwag playlist I share my opinion and first impressions of the all-new Vauxhall Astra.
The new Mk8 version of Vauxhall's long reigning hatchback has just undergone some serious transformation and puts the model back on the map amongst strong competition such as, the Ford Focus, Volkswagen Golf, SEAT Leon, Renault Megane, and Mazda 3.
The car goes on sale in Autumn 2021 in the UK, with first customer deliveries taking place in early 2022. Featuring some new tech innovations, Vauxhall have really stepped up their game with the new Astra and it will definitely be an interesting car to test drive once a vehicle becomes available. For the first time the Astra will have 2 electrified versions, which will include two different power outputs of a Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) with the higher performance version offering up 225PS. The most notable styling changes are the introduction of the 'Vauxhall Visor' and a much more aggressive design language using sharp lines and creases.
If you are unfamiliar with the Chinwag format, my updates are short first impressions along with key stats all from the comfort of my bar - The Chain & Sprocket - Cheers!
