These three thoracic #mobility exercises are to help improve thoracic range of motion. This is the part of the spine that is located between the neck and lumbar spine, where the rib cage attaches. There are 12 segments. This is an often neglected part of the spine, and mobility exercises can be game changers.
Often this part of the spine is more stiff than the surrounding areas, care should be made to make sure the motion is coming from the thoracic spine, rather than the low back, shoulders or necks.
First drill is to work on extension and control, moving to rotation then, coupling the 2 while incorporating shoulder movements. Initially it may be best to limit the range of motion and progress over time to tolerance.
