Dr. Davis experienced trauma in his young life that sent him on a 47-year quest to help victims of domestic violence. His sister committed suicide at the age of 24. He had just returned home from Vietnam and had his fill of killing and death.
Being determined to know why people take their life. He started reading everything that he could and studied courses, to the extent that he graduated from Cornerstone University with a Ph.D., as a Christian Counselor.
He counseled soldiers while in combat in Vietnam, practiced conflict resolution at the United States Postal Service and counseled with the Churches of Christ. Although he was not able to help his sister, he is dedicated to helping others. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
