The language in the second amendment is very clear, "Keep and bear arms", meaning that as an American you have the right to hang a pair of bear arms on your wall. At least, that's what anti-gun people would say.
This exact interpretation is quoted in many dictionaries and in my book and it explains exactly what it means to carry weapons, not the ability to hang bear arms.
