Axetale takes place after a Neutral run. After managing to prevent Flowey from taking the Souls and destroying the surface, Frisk decides to live among Monster kind. With Toriel taking the throne once again, and Frisk working alongside the Monsters looking for a different way break the barrier, a new kind of Hope has been brought to the Underground. For thirteen years, everything seemed to be at peace... Until Flowey returned, bitter from defeat. Slaying Toriel, he manages to take the Souls this time; but his recklessness created a vicious glitch, fueled by the Void. This glitch, called The Hunger, began to afflict all Monsters.
In a desperate attempt, not only save the Underground, but mainly Frisk, Sans takes Toriel's Soul. He gives it to Frisk, forcing them to go through the barrier, hoping to keep her safe. Unfortunately, fate had different plans. Frisk was never able to return, and would pass away after giving birth to her daughter Aliza. Thus, the Underground decayed, seemingly all Hope died alongside Frisk. But there was still a spark left... Aliza had read Frisk’s journal about the Underground. This journal gave detailed accounts of Frisk's encounters, and even included a map of the Underground. Inspired by her mother’s writing, and the desire to leave her abuseive grandmother, Aliza would collect the 7 Souls required to break the barrier. Setting off to free the Monsters, Aliza came to discover the Underground was not the same place depicted in Frisk’s Journal. From here, she must face the dark reality of the Underground's current state.
Undertale is a 2015 2D role-playing video game created by American indie developer Toby Fox. The player controls a child who has fallen into the Underground: a large, secluded region under the surface of the Earth, separated by a magical barrier. The player meets various monsters during the journey back to the surface, although some monsters might engage the player in a fight. The combat system involves the player navigating through mini-bullet hell attacks by the opponent. They can opt to pacify or subdue monsters in order to spare them instead of killing them. These choices affect the game, with the dialogue, characters, and story changing based on outcomes.Papyrus (/pəˈpaɪrəs/ pə-PY-rəs) is the brother of Sans and a major character in Undertale. His main motive is to capture a human so he can become a member of the Royal Guard, and finally have friends and popularity.
Sans (/sænz/) is the brother of Papyrus and a major character in Undertale. He first appears in Snowdin Forest after the protagonist exits the Ruins. He serves as a supporting character in the Neutral and True Pacifist routes, and as the final boss and heroic antagonist in the Genocide Route.
Horrortale is an AU that takes place many years after a neutral run caused by Frisk. The monsters of the Underground have gone crazy and savage due to wide-spread starvation, the consumption of human meat, and the new laws established by the new queen, Undyne.
The action takes place many years after Frisk had fallen down. Monsters have lost hope, have gone insane and their appearance has changed in terrifying and horrifying ways. For example, Papyrus has a slightly torn scarf and has bloody, uneven, broken teeth and now he is preparing spaghetti made of humans, and his brother Sans tries to kill Aliza at one of the earliest parts of the game. The demo only shows the characters, Horror!Toriel, Horror!Flowey, Horror!Sans, and Horror!Papyrus. The demo game is now no longer accurate to the story
The story takes place after "the overthrowal of the queen," ending where Toriel, after a neutral ending, returned to the throne, but Undyne drove her back to the Ruins and occupied the throne, wanting to destroy humanity more than ever. The Horrortale AU occurs many years later where monsters are in despair after many stages of failed attempts to get out of the Underground.
