Alpaca wool products can be found sold all over Cusco, Peru. I knew I wanted to buy some souvenirs to take home. I liked the alpaca wool hats, but I wanted it to be unique. While there's many "alpaca" wool sold in the street, I wasn't too sure on the quality of the product. Many of the alpaca wool being sold on the streets are often mixed with synthetic thread or not even alapaca at all. I also wanted a unique looking product that not many people would have. I definitely wanted to bring a peruvian alpaca wool hat home.
I ended up going to the Centro de Textiles Tradicionales del Cusco, which is located on Avenida Sol in Cusco. While the prices is higher, you're guaranteed quality alpaca products. Also, the money goes to the weavers creating the products. Inside each product is a tag that tells you what its made off and the the person who weaved it.
I wanted to get a hat, but the problem was there were too many to choose from.
