This video will show you how to check if a seller is trying to scam you by hiding a Check Engine Light. There are 2 main things you want to inspect before purchasing a vehicle to avoid these scammers:
- Does the Check Engine Light work? Simply turn the vehicle power on to find out.
- Did the seller reset the Check Engine Light? Use an OBD-II scanner to check for stored and pending codes as well as the I/M Readiness Menu for any Incomplete Status.
