In this video I discuss the effects that caffeine has on the brain. Essentially, caffeine blocks adenosine which increases activity throughout our neurons and makes us feel more awake. This in turn leads to a cascade of other effects such as increases in dopamine, norepineprhine, cortisol and serotonin.
I discuss what this actually means for your noggin and whether it really makes you smarter/is a good idea to drink.
