Hi! Today, the restoration of a new ancient find. More than a month ago, a friend brought a piece of dirt with something made of iron inside. I always find it interesting to restore what others consider to be a pile of rust. Let's get started!
First of all, I removed the earth and the layer of rust. I still don't understand what it is. The fact is the handle-tang is broken. But the blade has a strange round shape, what is this tool for?
With the help of a rust remover, I cleaned the surface and neutralized it in water with soda. Next, I used a soft iron brush to clean the surface. To lengthen the tang, I used a piece of steel and welded two pieces in place.
Next, he shaped and made the handle from a dry piece of wood (not hard). I shaped it, used a font made of steel. After polishing, I soaked the handle with homemade wax.
