A mother South China tiger gave birth to two cubs on June 27 in Suzhou South China Tiger Breeding Center in east China.
Surveillance footage showed the mother wandering around her babies with full maternal aggression, even feeders have to feed them very carefully.
"When the cage gate is open, the mother becomes vigilant immediately and runs to the gate to check," said Li Linxiang, staff member of the center.
As the mother is over-protective, staff can not distinguish the cubs' gender. The twins have grown from some one kilogram to 2.5 kilograms. In order to provide food with sufficient nutrition, staff feed the mother with rabbit meat.
The birth of the two cubs has raised to 15 the number of South China tigers living in the center.
