Berberis Aristata, also known as Sumbal, is a thorny shrub with yellow roots, yellow flowers in corymbose racemes, and bright red oblong-ovoid or ovoid berries. It is commonly found in Northern Areas of Pakistan, KPK, Kashmir, Murree, Kotli Sattian hills in Punjab, and Balochistan.
Berberis Aristata (sumbloo ki lakri) is also known by other names, including Tree Turmeric, Indian Berberry, and Himalayan Berberry. It has various names in different languages, such as Darhald, Zarishk, Rassaut, Sumbloo, and Koroy. The botanical name Berberis Aristata is also used in other languages, such as Arabic, Persian, Chinese, German, and French.
Berberis Aristata (daru haldi) has been historically used to treat fatal diseases such as cancer, brain tumors, diabetes, thyroid glands, infertility, and arthritis.
