Tribal clashes in Sudan’s Darfur region have killed at least 83 people in the latest wave of violence. Scores of civilians have been killed in Sudan's western Darfur region since December 2020. The tribal killings erupted after the withdrawal of the United Nations Peacekeeping force. Human Rights Watch says the violence has killed over 200 people and injured more than 300 others. The escalating tension and clashes come despite Sudan's government promise to protect Darfur. Dr Adbul-Karim Elgoni gave SABC News more insights into the situation in Western Darfur.
