this is my stock 1975 Marshall Super Lead MKII (well, stock except for the filter caps, some pots, jacks and head shell, which had to be replaced due to age).
Bossted with the Boss SD-1W set to "stock" mode, so no extra gain or anything over the regular old sd-1.
sm57 and a bit of r121 on a Mesa cab, no post processing.
Shows that with a tiny bit of boost you can get those old amps into high gain territory without a problem. The character of the sound is still old school Marshall, but isnt it great to have all those flavours of distortion in modern high gain music as well?
